Understanding the Methodology: Improving Care and Becoming a National Leader on US News & World Report Best Hospital list

Annually, US News & World Report publishes a ranking of Best Hospitals and specialties based on objective outcomes, volume, specialty specific services and technologies, expert opinion and patient satisfaction. Hospitals ranked are identified as the top facilities in the country. Healthcare consumers have increasing choice in how and where to receive their care. Patient experience and outcomes are key drivers. Becoming the hospital of choice is a key goal of healthcare organizations. Developing processes to improve outcomes and patient experience is necessary to ensure high quality care in addition to maintaining operational standards such as high surgical volume and referrals. Our Institute analyzed the methodology in order to attain the highest standards in urologic care, achieve optimal patient outcomes, improve satisfaction, thus resulting in increased ranking. Our team developed and implemented a comprehensive, interdisciplinary action plan, targeting the key metrics identified in the US News & World Report. As a result, our organization increased ranking from a non-ranked status to becoming one of the top 50 urologic hospitals in the nation. As a leader in the nation, our commitment high quality care delivery is demonstrated by continuing evaluation and process improvement.
