YOUNG UROLOGIST FORUM: LAP/ROBOTIC OLYMPICS 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
*Buses to take attendees from Convention Center to Hartford Hospital
Join your fellow colleagues for a drink and some fun during the Young Urologist Lap/Robotic Olympics. In this contest, surgical residents from residencies programs throughout the New England Section will be invited to showcase their laparoscopic skills. The Robotic Olympics will take place at The Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI) at Hartford Hospital from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Transportation will be provided to and from the facility from the Hartford Convention Center.
The competition will consist of 32 residents participating in a series of tests where lap suturing and peg transfer using FLS (Fundamentals of Laparoscopic) testing units will be timed and graded. The Mimic dV-Trainer® advanced skill module and the intuitive da Vinci Skills Simulator will also provide competitors with additional skills testing. The winners of the competition will be awarded prizes at the end of the evening. (Prizes awarded include an IPAD Mini, Google Nexus 7 tablet, and an Amex gift card).
Due to there being limited space available in the competition, slots will be open to first 32 residents who sign up to participate. All NE attendees are welcome to attend and view the competition. Visiting Urologists and guests not participating will be able to practice their skills on 2 additional da Vinci Si robots and 1 Intuitive da Vinci Skills Simulator.
